Agromediterránea and Patatas Meléndez join forces to distribute Sun&Vegs

From October on, Agromediterránea and Patatas Meléndez, two of the largest companies in their respective sectors, will establish a commercial relationship whereby Sun&Vegs products will be distributed exclusively in Mercamadrid by Patatas Meléndez.

Agromediterránea, leading company in the production of vegetables and aromatic herbs for fresh consumption, continues its progress in the national market through its Sun&Vegs brand. The company, always focused on offering the best quality, has as its main mission to reach the greatest number of households possible. To this end, it has begun a new commercial relationship with Patatas Meléndez, the leading company from Valladolid in the fresh potato sector, which has three ‘Meléndez Market’ distribution points in Mercamadrid, especially designed as a gateway to the Horeca channel and to small and medium sized businesses.

This synergetic relationship between both companies will allow Patatas Meléndez to exclusively distribute Sun&Vegs’ first range products in Mercamadrid, i.e. whole pieces of fresh produce such as courgettes, corn, radishes and a wide variety of lettuces, – among which the iceberg, romaine and little gem stand out – which will complete the range already offered in their facilities.

Together with a highly respected operator in the sector such as Patatas Meléndez, Agromediterránea seeks to generate confidence in its customers. In addition, extending the range of products will make purchasing much easier, mainly for those professionals in the traditional channel, by being able to centralise them in a single supplier and thus gaining efficiency in supply.

For its part, Meléndez, which has a 19.1% market share, is strengthening its position in fresh products through this alliance and increasing its offer with a new assortment for its customers.

Agromediterránea has an assortment of more than 30 varieties of lettuces, vegetables and aromatic herbs, and through its own brand Sun&Vegs BIO offers a line of organic products, in order to provide solutions to a growing segment of consumers.

In addition to agricultural products of the highest quality and freshness, Agromediterránea develops global solutions adapted to the needs of each client and market, offering everything from the product format and packaging to specialised distribution and logistics services. From its production centre located in Dolores de Pacheco (Murcia), nearly 500 different references are produced, adapted to different formats and packaging.

In addition, Jesús Gómez adds: “Agromediterránea offers specific formats and products for channels such as Food Service, as well as crops destined for the fresh-cut industry (processing), with varieties such as tender shoots of baby red batavia, baby green batavia, lollo rosso baby, rocket and baby spinach, among others”.

The company, which distributes its products to both national and international supermarket chains, is present with its products in 25 markets throughout Europe.
