Foodiverse will take part in Fruit Attraction 2026 from 6 to 8 October (Hall 7 – Stand 7C02) with a proposal that reflects the evolution the company is currently undergoing. The trade fair will be the first major industry event at which Foodiverse will unveil its new positioning as a European agro-industrial platform specialised in Fresh Convenience, supported by a renewed identity and a broad portfolio of innovation.

The company comes to this year’s edition with the aim of showing how it is turning the trends identified across different European markets into new solutions for retail and foodservice. More complete formats, recipes that reduce preparation time, products adapted to new consumption occasions and a wider variety of ingredients are behind many of the new developments.

This vision is directly linked to its new positioning, built around a model that spans from field to finished product and combines agricultural expertise, industrial scale, proximity to local markets and innovation. Through this approach, the company aims to work alongside its customers to identify emerging needs and turn them into solutions that are viable on an industrial scale.

New ways of understanding convenience

One of the main innovations Foodiverse will bring to Fruit Attraction will be chopped salads, a concept that has already achieved significant success in the United States. Unlike traditional salads, they combine more finely cut lettuce and vegetables with a range of ingredients — such as proteins, croutons or dressings — to create a complete and versatile option. As well as being eaten as a salad, they can be used in wraps, sandwiches or as an accompaniment to other dishes.

Alongside them, shake salads will also feature prominently: salads presented in a jar-style format and designed primarily for immediate consumption. The new recipes include higher-value ingredients and carbohydrate- or protein-based components, extending the possibilities beyond the conventional salad.

Foodiverse will also reinforce its commitment to one of the areas currently showing the greatest momentum: meal kits or cooking kits. These consist of vegetable mixes prepared for direct cooking in the microwave, frying pan or air fryer, and can include sauces, spices, toppings or other components. The range includes recipes such as ramen, combining vegetables with noodles and sauce to make it easier to prepare a complete meal at home.

This evolution responds to a shift the company is observing among consumers, who are looking for fresh convenience products not only to solve meals away from home, but increasingly for at-home consumption too. The category is gaining ground with products that make it possible to eat a balanced diet while reducing preparation steps and time. In this area, Foodiverse is working on ready-to-cook solutions and increasingly complete recipes.

More consumption occasions

The innovation Foodiverse will showcase at Fruit Attraction will also extend to hot meals, with options based on pasta or rice, fresh vegetables and different protein choices, as well as bowls, where the company will present new recipes in both plastic packaging and cardboard formats.

The development of these categories reflects a broader evolution in Fresh Convenience. Consumers continue to look for ease and speed, while also demanding flavour, nutritional balance and products that can fit into a wide variety of situations. Other trends identified by Foodiverse include higher-protein recipes, international flavours and solutions designed for the microwave or air fryer.

Foodiverse’s proposal for Fruit Attraction will also devote significant space to foodservice, a channel that is particularly important for the group in Germany and which broadens the potential applications of the different solutions developed by the company.

Foodiverse’s presence at the trade fair will also provide an opportunity to showcase its agricultural roots, the other key part of its integrated model. Products such as herbs, radishes and sweetcorn will feature prominently in this area, reflecting an activity that enables the company to work from the field to strengthen aspects such as traceability, quality and continuity of supply.

Foodiverse will manage all activities for the unified businesses

Foodiverse and Taylor Farms have completed the acquisition of two production plants specialized in the manufacturing of ready-to-eat salads, which belonged to the fresh business of Bonduelle in Germany. As part of this transition, Foodiverse, within its European business operations, will manage all activities for the unified businesses. This strategic move allows Foodiverse, along with the partnership of Taylor Farms, to strengthen its position in the German market and boost innovation in the fresh and healthy food sector.

Foodiverse’s production plant Thurländer Salate specializes in private label and is a leader in the production of ready-to-eat salads. Starting April 1st, the three German production sites, Straelen, Reutlingen, and Thurland, will operate under the corporate brand name Greenfresh. With this latest acquisition, the Foodiverse group will have a global workforce of 2,650 employees, nine production plants, and 2,700 hectares of managed farmland.

“The integration of these two plants into our group reinforces our commitment to growth in the healthy food sector”, said Joaquín Ballester, President of Foodiverse. “The combination of experience, top talent and our great capacity for innovation will allow us to continue to lead the fresh food sector and offer the best service to our customers throughout Europe.”

“By making this strategic acquisition, our goal is to enhance the fresh packaged salad sector and ensure our customers receive innovative and healthy products,” said Bruce Taylor, chairman and CEO of Taylor Farms. “We look forward to serving customers in Germany and across Europe.”

Foodiverse and Taylor Farms are confident that this integration will strengthen its ability to provide nutritious, high-quality products that promote a healthy lifestyle to consumers. Following the acquisition, workforce stability will be ensured, and a gradual integration process will be implemented with the support of an international Foodiverse team to facilitate a smooth transition.

Innovation and sustainability as the key to democratising healthy fresh-cut and ready-to-eat products

The group will be showcasing the brand’s full range at Fruit Attraction, including a variety of salad bowls, such as Freshkiterráneas – a pulse-, potato- or pasta-based alternative to lettuce, ultra-fresh Buddha Bowl salads, Microfreshk microwaveable dishes, and a selection of mixed-salad bags. Maximum freshness straight from the fields

Over 2,800 hectares of land are managed for Foodiverse by Agromediterránea, enabling them to offer over 35 varieties of vegetables straight from the fields. This allows them to guarantee product availability 52 weeks a year, and to have control over the entire process from the planting of the seeds to the moment the finished product is served up on the consumer’s table.

As the winter season has already started, the Foodiverse stand will be displaying numerous varieties of aromatic herbs, radishes in different formats, and romaine lettuce, both normal and mini, the latter being in high demand in Europe. Products launched during the summer season have also become an integral part of the range, such as Lamuyo peppers, white courgettes, black beauty aubergines, and fresh sweetcorn. Cucumbers are set to be added to this seasonal range from 2023.

Agromediterránea has extensive experience growing and selling courgettes and produces the highest volume of this crop in the Murcia region. During the trade fair, different varieties of this vegetable will be on show, such as green, round, and white courgettes, which are available all year round, and organic alternatives that the company offers during the winter season. A further variety is the yellow courgette which is still in its trial phase.

For its straight-from-the-field range, Foodiverse also boasts innovative packaging solutions that are alternative to plastic, such as cellulose or kraft paper combined with PLA, as well as more sustainable plastics options, such as POP (Prevented Ocean Plastic) packaging, which is made from plastic recovered from the oceans by people at risk of social inclusion. The company also makes use of lighter packaging.

  • With a presence in Spain, Germany, Switzerland and Italy, Foodiverse has control of the entire production chain thanks to its farmland and 9 processing plants, guaranteeing maximum quality and freshness in the more than 2,000 products in its range

Madrid, 4 August 2022. Foodiverse, a fresh and ready-to-eat food specialist, will be taking its healthy revolution to Fruit Attraction, which will be held in Madrid (Spain) from the 4th to the 6th of October (hall 7, stand D02). The group from Spain will be attending the event with a fresh, innovative range including both vegetables straight from the fields and fresh-cut and ready-to-eat or cook products, to help consumers follow a healthy diet.

Through its brands Sun&Vegs and Freshkia, and with a long history of specialising in private labels, Foodiverse offers fresh products to over 400 customers in 22 countries. The group is currently the market leader for private labels of ready-to-eat salad trays in Spain, Portugal, Germany and Switzerland and is present in markets in Northern Europe such as Norway, Denmark and Poland. It has developed specific formats for distribution, food services, the catering industry and vending machines. In 2021 alone, the group launched more than 220 new products, expanding its range to over 2,000 items.

As well as owning fields where the company grows its own vegetables, Foodiverse also has a distribution and marketing company and 9 processing plants for fresh-cut and ready-to-eat or cook products in Spain, Germany, Switzerland and Italy. Having control over the entire production chain guarantees utmost process efficiency and maximum quality and freshness of all of the products in the range.

An innovative, on-trend selection

Foodiverse will be showcasing its latest innovations on the stand, such as its Freshkiterráneas salads, with a base of chickpeas, beans, potatoes and pasta – an appealing alternative for new consumers who want to eat anytime and anywhere, and their Microfreshk microwaveable plates with a tasty combination of fresh vegetables and pasta or rice, designed to be cooked in the packaging in the microwave.

We can also highlight some of their proposals for new consumers: the organic Caesar salad; ultra-fresh salads developed in collaboration with Heura and Violife, leaders in the vegan food sector; and Daily salads, a pioneering new product on the Swiss and German markets, which is also available in Spain.

Visitors will also discover a large selection of vegetables straight from the fields as the group has recently expanded its range to include white courgettes – available all year round, black beauty aubergines and Lamuyo peppers. Among the 35 products from its range, it’s worth pointing out the round courgettes, radishes – also available 52 weeks a year and in organic format, and other vegetables with ecological certification such as Iceberg lettuces and green courgettes.

Sustainable packaging

Foodiverse will also be presenting its latest innovations in terms of sustainability and its quest to develop more environmentally-friendly packaging solutions. This is the case of the kraft paper bags and PLA in which they supply their fresh and fresh-cut produce and which are 100% bio-based, biodegradable and compostable.

The company also supplies its agricultural range in a number of sustainable formats: in bulk; with a kraft paper wrapper; in cellulose and cardboard trays; in cellulose nets; or – in the case of its organic radishes – in sustainable packaging made from recycled plastic recovered from coastal areas in Southeast Asia (Prevented Ocean Plastic).

In the case of the fresh-cut range, the group proposes alternatives such as including an FSC-certified wooden fork, and 100% RPET trays, thus encouraging a circular economy. The range of ultra-fresh salads and ready-to-eat peeled fruit are also available in cardboard packaging with a PLA lid.

On-trend alternatives for all

Foodiverse’s entire range takes into account that today’s consumers want fresh vegetables and fun, varied products that are good for them. Its catalogue of products is designed to be consumed anytime and anywhere – even at BBQs, as healthy snacks between meals, after doing sport – and proposes alternatives with premium ingredients such as the ultra-fresh Daily format for salads and cut fruit, vegetables and products with ecological certification and a large selection of tasty recipes for flexitarians, vegetarians and vegans.

What’s more, they include innovative ingredients and elements of worldwide and national cuisine such as Maultaschen (meat and cheese ravioli), falafel or Burratina cheese, resulting in a variety of colours, flavours and textures that show consumers that following a healthy, varied diet is possible and also great fun.

  • The new environmentally friendly bags do not contain any plastic and are 100% bio-based, biodegradable, and compostable
  • Agromediterránea expands its fresh vegetable range by including the white courgette, the red Lamuyo pepper, and the black beauty aubergine
  • As part of their “zero plastic” strategy, Agromediterránea also has other alternative packaging solutions

Dolores de Pacheco (Murcia), 12 May 2022. Agromediterránea, a specialist in the cultivation and marketing of vegetables straight from the fields, now provides part of its range in new, plastic-free packaging: a 100% bio-based, biodegradable, and compostable PLA and kraft paper bag. This is in response to consumers’ growing concern for the environment and their search for fresh food that is produced sustainably and fits in with a healthy diet.

The new plant-based bag prolongs the product shelf life which, in the case of radishes and broccoli florets—the two products that Agromediterránea is already offering with this packaging—can extend to 14 days. Furthermore, thanks to the PLA content, consumers can see the quality and freshness of the product at a glance.

“Innovation and commitment to sustainability, the circular economy and product safety are key issues for Agromediterránea. This is conveyed in our ongoing quest to find sustainable alternatives for packaging that will help to reduce our ecological footprint, whilst at the same time guarantee food safety and maximum product quality,” explained Francisco Sánchez, Managing Director of the company.

Foodiverse, the group to which Agromediterránea belongs, specialises in healthy food and supplies its fresh-cut range in biodegradable bags made of kraft paper and PLA. This compostable packaging can be disposed of with organic waste or, in its absence, paper and card for recycling.

Further product innovation

In line with their mission to help consumers to follow a healthy diet easily and with appetising, on-trend food, Agromediterránea continues to offer a wide range of vegetables in all shapes and sizes, flavours, textures, and colours to show that eating a healthy, varied diet can be fun.

In fact, the company has also expanded its fresh vegetable range by including the white courgette—adding to the green, yellow, and round courgettes of both colours, the red Lamuyo pepper, and the blanck beauty aubergine—coming soon.

What’s more, Agromediterránea is continuing to extend its organic product range, which already includes radishes, sweetcorn, courgettes, broccoli, and Iceberg lettuces and is marketed under the brand Sun&Vegs or a private label.

A wide range of sustainable packaging

This new bag adds to Agromediterránea’s range of environmentally friendly vegetable packaging. As part of its “zero plastic” strategy, the company is already selling the products in its agricultural range in bulk, in trays made of alternative materials to plastic, such as cellulose and cardboard, and in cellulose nets.

In their aromatic herb range, grown on part of the company’s 2,800 hectares of farmland, they have also reduced the use of plastic by making blister packs lighter and opting for 100% R-PET packaging. The result is an overall saving of 14.5 tonnes of plastic a year.
